STAR PICTURES. '
At the Star Theatre last evening, on the occasion of the bi-weekly change of films, there was a large attendance. One of the chief films was a Californian gold mining drama, entitled "The Vengeance of Fate," or "The Roaring Days of '49." This Week's Australasian edition of the Pathe Gazette shows a number of interesting pictures, ' including the .New Sbuth Wales v. Wellington League match at Newtown Park ; and the New South Wales .Legislative Assembly, "where Speaker Willis reigns supreme." Other items appreciated were "The Fatal Mirror," "Tapioca Industry," and "Pehita and Her Lovers," "Pandora's Box," and "The Golf Caddiels Dog," on the lighter side of the programme. To-morrow afternoon the usual prize matinee will be given.
