CARTERTON NOTES
(BT mEGBAPH— BPECTAt. TO THB POBT.) CARTERTON, This Day. The Carterton and Gladstone debating societies held a debate at; Gladstone on Tuesday evening on the Subject "Leasehold v. Freehold." Mr. J. T. M. Hornsby was judge, and after an interesting debate, Gladstone, supporting the leasehold, won by 275 points to 251. Mr. C. Arcue, son of Mr. T. S. Arcus, of Carterton, left here on Wednesday for tho Cambridge Sanatorium^ where he will undergo treatment for his health. Mr. G. Bristow, who has been seriously ill, is now able to get about again. A proposal is. afoot to establish a Homing Pigeon Club in Carterton. A meeting for tho purpose will probably be held next week. ______ _______
