HOME RULE BILL
TO BE PASSED BEFORE CHRISTMAS AUTUMN SESSION FORE- ; SHADOWED. By Telegraph.— Frees Association.— Co&jrrltbl. LONDON, 10th July. It is stated that the Government intends that the Home Rule Bill shall be passed by the House of Commons before Christinas, and that this accounts for rigorous application of th« closure. An autumn session i-s foreshadowed. Mr. Asquith, Prime Minister, has announced that the House will rise on 2nd August and reassemble in the first week in October. BELFAST DEPUTATION TO PREMIER. SAFEGUARDS*" DECLARED INADEQUATE. LONDON, 11th July. Mr. Aequith, replying to a deputation from the Belfast Chamber of Commerce regarding Home Rule, remarked that the deputation did not indicate in what respects the proposed safeguard)* were inadequate. It was unprofitable to argue the question while they maintained that no safeguards would reconcile them to an Irish Parliament. The Government honestly desired to effect a real settlement.
