A thousand strikers waited art the entrance to the Surrey Commercial Dock, armed with knives, bottles, and stones, for two hundred non-unionists to take <heir luncheon hour. They rush«d the public-houses where the- ion-unionists lunched and attempted to wret^ them. One landlord fired a revoiver ana w^t bade the mcb nntil the non-urrionisia escape* by th» back windows. A number were /sent to hospiw^ fering from, shot wounds. A great crowd ooUected, and the mounted polioe made baton charges and restored order. WORK AT THE DOCKS. almost~"normal. LONDON, 10th July. There are now 16,565 hands working at the docker, and the Port of London Authority announces that work at most of the wharves is almost normal. The master lightermen, including the coal factors, have organised an excellent emergency 6ervice.
