Captain Couceiro's and Caracho's Royalist forces junctioned at Chavez, but were routed by the Republican troops after a five hours' fight, "'with conisiderable losses. The outbreak is attributed to the deoision of the Spanibh and Portuguese Governments to intern all Portuguese conspirators on the frontiers. MADRID, 9th July. Senor Canalejas, the Premier, in an interview, explained that orders had been issued for the repression of a Portuguese conspiracy on the Spanish side of the frontier. The whole movement was an absurd adventure, which had failed.
