CRISIS AVERTED. By I'elegriph.— Press Association.— Copyright, CAPETOWN, 27th June. A rearrangement of the Cabinet has averted a political crisis. Last month the Treasurer, Mr. Hull, resigned because of differences with Mr. Saver, Minister for Railways, whom he accused of systematically ignoring hie colleagues. General Botha at the time promised a reconstruction of the Ministry at the end 'of the session, and eaid it was true that Mr. Saver had not consulted the other members of the Cabinet sufficiently. General Botha has now, given up his portfolio of Agriculture, which is taken by Mr. Saver, who will lead the House whenever General Botha is absent. General Botha will hold no portfolio. General Smuts, formerly Minister tor the Interior, becomes Minister for Finance and Defence. General Hertzog, Minister for Justice, takes in addition the portfolio of Native Affaire. Mr. Fischer, Minister for Lands, becomes also Minister for the Interior. Mr. Burton, formerly. Minister for Native Affairs, is given the portfolio of' Railways and Harbours, and i Colonel Leuchars (now Commerce and Industries) that of Public Works.
