MR. WALTER RUTHERFURD.
Mr. Walter Rutherfurd arrived in Palmerston in 1882, and is a well-known figure in Palmerston -North, -where he has ' been Public Trustee '- for' the past twenty years, and is a member of the Inn of Rutherford and Connell, auditors and accountants. He is also clerk to the Kairanga County Council, the Manawatu Drainage Board, etc., and was for a considerable time secretary to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board till he relinquished that post, earning in that capacity warm kudos from l Dr. Valentine, Inspector-General of Hospitals, who regarded him as a model secretary. Mr. Rutherfurd has been identified with many other local institutions, including the High School, of which he was for some time chairman, and he has rendered specially valuable services to the Technical School.
