< r^i Tairua Mines.— The north-oast tunnel is in hard country, but there is still a little gold in small seams. The western re«£ south has been driven on for six feet. Tho reef is still poor, but seems to be openingout. In tho works on the Pinion reef, about 18ft of tho hanging: wall of tho reef was worth 25s per ton during tho week. There is a formation of quartz and mullock two feet sue inches wide, which is making gold, but not yet good enough |to be saved.
