Mails from the New Hebrides report} the brutal murder of a Mr. Turicr and' his wife at the Maskolyne Islands, near Malekula. Tuner was manager of (hq Liuiour Station. When hen body was discovered she was still hold-, ing a coup tureen, which she had been in the act of placing on the table. Mr., Tuner was sitting with hie back to tha, table. Ho had a bullet in the chest and another in the. arm, the limb being shat* tered. It is supposed the crime \vas committed in vengeance for illegal r&* cruiting by som© whites in the pa«t.
