MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

There was a brief sitting of *ths Magistrate's Court to-d»y. Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., presiding. For fighting in Taranaki-street last evening, George Joseph Callan and Robert Lainon were each lined 20b. Joseph Fitch was convicted and discharged for drunkenness, and fined £3 for a breach of his prohibition order. A deserter from the Sussex named Joseph KLum was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment. He was also ordered to pay courb costs (7s).
