Y.M.C.A. OLD BOYS' CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. ■' Mr. Atkinson presided at the .animal' meeting of th© Old Boys' Club, -rehicb, was held in the Reception Hall of the V.M.C.A. There were some thirty present, and the mooting was chara<:tedteed by enthusiasm. Tho report stated that the past year was one of the most sueceesful in tho history of the club, this being due in great measure to the wholehearted efforts of the chairman. Reference was made to the de'parturo of Miv Holmes, late chairman,, the- club exptcens* ing its very aincerest wishes for his, sue. cees in hi* new sphere of life in, the United States. The club held a succeed fill _ encampment at Paekakariki la&fc Christmas, and thanks were due to Mesfers. Smith Bros, for allowing the camp to be pitched on their land. The religious side of tho club has nob been overlooked. The weekly Bible class hold before the main meeting has been well attended. With deep regret the report mentioned the death, of one of the <; üb'a moat enthusiastic members, VY e *non 'Bx'litirdson, who was killed whiie out *nUi the^ D Battery, at Petone. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows :-— President, Mr. M. Mathieeon; chairman, Mr. F. C. Atkinson (re-elected) ; hon. sec., Air. B. Mabin; religious committee, Messrs. W. Baker, R. Coad, and J. Lentiox; membership committee, Messrs. H. Lay> M. Hodge, and H. Patchett-; 6ocial wnvi 1 games committee, Messrs. E. P.oberti, W. Wilson, and H. M'Ginr.. It was decided'that the chairman' of each of the«« committees, together with* the other oificers of the club, form.au executive committee. Practices of the Shakespeare Club am. Nigger Minstrel Troupe were held iii preparation for the coming concert, u> which all the old boy« of the association are specially invilea. During the coming winter an endea* "Irour is to be made to start a boxing class, debating club, and a glee club in addition to tho various activities already, in hand.
