Wilding, writing to a frind in Christchuxch regarding criticism of his absence from the Davis Cop contests, gayß that when he promieed to come to New Zealand he had no idea, that, from Jane, 1911, he was to be member of a large firm in the City of London. In the circumstances he could not ask leave to make an extended visit to New Zealand. From Jane to February last I he had not play«d tennis.
