The West Indian delegates to the conference on trade relations between Can ada and the West Indies were entertain* cc' at a banquet by the Hon. J. E. Fos it , Canadian Minister for Trade and Commerce. In the course of a speech, Mr. Foster said the trade treaty between Canada and tho West Indies wa» th© beginning of a wider 6vstem of Imperial trade, preference. The next order was Australia. He hoped that in a few years they would ba able to bind the sister, hood of the whole Empire. Then all would be ready to march to the Mother Country and secure one bond of commercial union throughout the Empire.
