PRIME MINISTER'S TOUR.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by Dr. Fitchett, Public Trustee, visited Opunake and discussed with residents matters connected with the local Harbour Board, West Coaet leases, and various other subjects. The Hon. Mr. Mackenzie was cordially received at a public meating attended by 400 people. The- town was decorated with bunting. Last night Mr. Mackenzie delivered a lecture at Eltham Town Hall on the exploration of Western Otago, based on personal experiences. The lecture was accompanied by scenic views, followed by a capital series of kinematograph views of the dairying and other industries, now first exhibited, and intended for advertising New Zealand in the Old Country. The views included pictures of the processes of butter and cheesemaking at Eltham and Riversdale, and ensilage making at Marton Junction, and experimental plots. This evening Mr. Mackenzie repeats the lecture at Kaponga. The Premier leaves on his return to Wellington on Saturday.
