ALPINE CLIMBING.

FEATS BY LADIES. Miss Dufaur, of Sydney, who was last year the lirsfc lady to olimb Mount (Jcok, on Sunday, 24th March, accompanied by Chief Guide P. Graham and Guide Alex. Graham, made a bucccssful ascent of Mount Silverhorn and Mount Tasman, 11,467 feot from the Ilaubt bhouac. Tho oHnib occupied sixteen hour 3, and is tho second ascent of Tasman, tho firfat having been made by Mr. Fitzgerald in 1895. On 31st March Mies Dufaur, accompanied by Chief Guide Graham and Guide Milne, made tho first ascent of Mount Dumpier (11,207 feet) from tho Haaf=t bivouac, by Linda Glacier. Tha climb occupied 16^ hours. Tho same panj', on 2nd in^t., j'lso climbed Mount Lendenfoldt (10,500 fool) by east fuco from Hochstetter Icefall. Ou Thursday last Mr. and • Mrs. Linden, accompanied by Guides Thomson and Lippo, successfully climbed the Footstool (9073 feet). Mrs. Linden is tho lirst lady to make the ascent.
