CHURCH OF ENGLAND MEN'S SOCIETY.

AUCKLAND, 10th April. The third annual conference for New Zealand of tho Church of England Men'a Society was opened this afternoon. A large numbev of delegates were present from all parts of tho Dominion, and the Bishop ot Auckland (Dr. Crcisslcy) presided. The annual report, which was presented by the Rev. J. D. Kufesell (Oamaru,) the general secretary, showed that tho society had flourished during the past-ycai", both m regard to increasing membership and the creation of new branches. Tho former had ri&en from 2100 to 2300 and the lattei from 114 to 131. A prosperous year was looked forward to. ' It was tesolved that a committeo be appointed +-0 consider the advisability of engaging a travelling organising secretary, and to report to a later sitting of the conference, that a committee be appointed to consider what improvements might be suggested in organisation, the time and place of meeting of future conferences, and the federation of branches for representation at Dominion conferences; that tht-. conference, deploring the prevailing indifference of men to public worship, earnestly calls on the Church authorities to seek for the rt-a-sons and remedjea; that it be a recommendation to the bishops of the. province to appoint mission .councils tor undertaking systematic parochial mission work, especially among men.
