THE JAPANESE EXPEDITION.
The members of the Japanese Expedition on board the Kainan Maru are still in port Commander Shirase made an official call on the Japanese Consul (Mr. T. Young), and several members of the expedition have been ashore making purchases prior to departing for Tokio. Meantime the expedition is awaiting - dvice from headquarters.
