MANAGERS* REPORTS. In the Wailii Extended mine, the south-east crosscut ie now a dittancc of slsMft from the shaft. At thiu point 3ft of stone was cut through, some of which has a promising appearance, and from the strike, as shown in the crosscut, thi6 stone, so the manager thinks, will junction with the south-east lode going east. Since passing through this the; drive has been in a mixture of quartz and country rock. No. 6 winze has been sunk to 70ft below No. 5 level, country rock being exposed in the hanging wall, i'he lode appeal's strong and settled towards, the footwall. Tairua Golden Hills. — The manager of the Tairua Golden Hills mine reports that during the week ending 16th March, the drive at No. 5 level north was extended 6ft.
