OPPONENT TO MR. PARR. fBY TBUSGRAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.! AUCKLAND, This Day. Mr. Hall Skelton, solicitor, is announced as a candidate for the Mayoralty, opposing Mr. C. J. Parr with the avowed object of endeavouring to deal with the breach between the employers and employees in connection with the general labourers' dispute in the hope of averting a strike. The labour leaders propose to ask Mr. Skelton to contest the seat as their accredited representative.
