WADESTOWN PRESBYTERIANS.
A social gathering of the Wadestown Pre&byterian.congregation 1 was held on Thursday evening in the church. The Rev. Gibson Smith presided, and an enjoyable programme was provided ,by Mrs Joplin and Misses Joplin, Styles,' J. Smith, Messrs Smith, Wall. One purpose of the gathering was to bid farewell to Mr. C. J. Tocker, who, after being a year in charge of the Wadestown parish, now enters the Theological Hall, Dunedin, and to welcome the Rev. Mr. Harris, who has been placed 1 in charge until the spring. In tho course of the evening. Mr. Tocker was presented with a. cheque, as a token of goodwill, from tho congregation. Refreshments were provided by the ladies of the congregation.. The piuno was kindly lent by tho Wellington Piano Company. ,
