ROYAL LIFE : SAViNG SOCIETY.
LOCAL AWARDS GRANTED. The monthly meeting of the executive of the Royal Life-saving Society was held at the V.M.C.A. last evening, when Mr. ' G. S. Hill occupied the chair. The report of the delegates who represented the Wellington Centre at the recent Lifesaving Conference held at Christchurch was received. The secretary (Mr. W. C. Collier) reported that the headmaster of the Clydequay School had expressed his willingness to work with the society in spreading a knowledge of its objects. It was resolved that all schools within a 20mi}e radius should be circularised and the society's literature enclosed. The following -a wards were granted: — Maranui Surf and Life-saving Club.— Proficiency certificates and bronze medallions—Cyril G. Hedge, Henry W. S. Peurce, Ebenezer Pearce, Rupert o.' Woods. Honorary instructor's certificate — Edward Perry. • , ' . Lyall Bay Surf and Life-saving Club.— Proficiency certificate and bronze medallion — Edward Levy. Ladiee' Seagull A.S. Club.—Proficiency ' certificates— Janet A. Ward, Edith E. M. Spencer,' Florence .J. Thompson, Gerti'ude M. Tucker, and Florence B. Outtrim. Bronze medallions — Irene M. Tandy and Abigail M. Levy.
