LIBRARIES CONFERENCE.
The annual conference of the Libraries' Association of New Zealand wUI be held in Wellington at Easter, beginning on 6th April (Saturday). The chair will be taken by Mr. T. W. Leye, of Auckland. The following are amongst those expected to be present : — WellingtonMessrs. 11. Bailhe (librarian), Councillors Hindmarsh, Atkinson, and Trevor, and Piofessor yon Zedlitz; Dunedin — Messrs. M'Ewan (librarian), and Councillor J. J. Clark (chairman of the Library Committee) ; Timaru — Mr. J. Craigie, M.P. (Mayor of Timaru) ; Christchurch — Mr. Howe (librarian of the College Public Library) will probably attend the conference in a private capacity ; Auckland — Messrs. Shillington (librarian), and T.W. Leys, and Miss Williams (of the Leys Institute). The papers to be read include two from ovei&eas : — One from Mr. J. Duff Brown, a prominent London librarian; and one from Miss Windeyer, of the Mitchell Library, Sydney. Mr. T. King, of Wellington, will also read a paper on the principles which govern the National Home-reading Association of England.
