The eleamor Maunganui, which arrived t»-day, is equipped with a 1^ kilowatt standard Marconi wireless set. Tho operator, Mr. V. Gardiner, told a, Poet reporter that from England to South Africa, ho was never out of communication with other wireles* vessels or stations, but after losing Durban, when he was diotant about 1100 miles, he heard no vessei until he received signals from the Ballarat leaving Melbourne. He had no communication with Macquarrio Island.
