EMPLOYEES' DEMANDS. The New Zealand Federation of Boot Manufacturers met to-day in Wellington, Mr. M'Kinlay (Dunedin) presiding. After the transaction of routine and other business the Federation met repreeentatives'.ot" the Employees' Unions, the periods •' of the local awards of which have expired. The delegates of the manufacturers were:— Messrs. Hannah (Wellington), O'Brien (Chfistchurch), M'Kinlay (Dunedin),. and Murray, Hodgson, Demsley (Auckland). The federated unions' delegates were : Messrs. J. Hutchinson (Wellington), C. P. Barnes (Auckland), 1. Lancaster .(New Plymouth), S. C Brown (Dunedin), H. Harper (Invercargill), and G. R. Whiting (Christchurch).' The conference is being conducted with a view -to arranging for a working agreement for the whole of New Zealand. Among the demands of the workers are the removal of certain anomalies and an increase of wages. The Manufacturers' Association elected ,the following officers to-day for the ensuing year:— President, Mn H. Demsley; vice-president, air. F. O'Brien;' treasurer, Mr. A. Trenwith; auditor, Mr. T. Hodgson ; executive, Messrs. Alapplebeck (Wellington), F. O'Brien (Chnstehurch),' Frame (Dunedin), J. Kingsland (Invercargill), and T. ,Hodg6on (Auckland).
