Regarding the vcconl interview between ex-King Manue 1 of Portugal, and Dom Miguel, it is authoritatively stated that after the failure of Captuin Conoeiro's raid a year ago Dom Miguel offered to_ recognise Manuel as the legitimate King if the latter recognised theMiguel branch as collateral, with rights of succession. This oiler was, it is alleged, accepted, and last -week's interview confirmed the arrangement.
