♦ RAM FAIR. (BT TELEGRAPH — I-BESS ASSOCIATION.] HASTINGS, 3rd February The annual ram fair, under the auspices of the Hawkes Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society, was held on the showground yesterday and to-day, in line weather. Theie was a representative attendance of buyers from ali over tho North Island. The entries, although over 5000 in number, showed a falling-off as compared with last year's fair. The Eomney Hock rams ranged from 2£ guineas to 10 guineas. There was a koeu demand for Lor coin stud rams; one shearling, on account of Mr. G. V. Pearce. M.P. (Patea). brought 46 guineas, and others made 40 guineas and 30 guineas, down to 10 guineas. The selling continued to-day» in fine J weather. The demand for Southdown and Border Leice^ters was poor, prices ranging from li guineas to 4 guineas. Lincoln* bold well, averaging from 2 > gui££ftg tfi 7 gtOgS&t. . - ■
