GROCERY TRADE DISPUTE.
Eepresentatives of the Grocers' Employees' .Union and employers in the grocery trade met at the Employers' Association rooms last night to discuss propsalu submitted by the union for a fresh award. The conference was abortive. The Grocers' Union will now file a case for hearing before the Conciliation Commissioner. The principal claims of the workers are : (1) One hour's reduction in the working week ; (2) an increase of 10k> weekly in the existing minimum rate of £2 6s; (3) the institution of the system of apprenticeship in the trade; and (4) limitation of tho proportion of juniors to journeymen. • '
