MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
♦ Dr. M^Arthur, S.M., presided at the Magistrate'a Court to-day. Margaret Webb, who had been remanded for a week for curative treatment on a chargo of drunkenness, was coqvictedi and ordered to pay medical ejypon&Gd (17s od). Ja3. Donoughoe was convicted and discharged for drunkenness, and fined 10s for indecency. _ A young girl, for whom Mr. H. F. O'Leary appeared, admitted theft of a gold watoh, valued at £3, and a skirt, in asking for leniency, Mr. O'Leary explained that accused, who was a shop nAsi&tant, had been out of work for somo time, and as eho was pennilees ehe took the watch and pawned it for ss. Tho skirt ha,d been jnado use of for a time, but it had now been returned. His Worehip entered a conviotion, and ordered hef to come up for sentence when called on.
