AUCKLAND GAS COMPANY.

Following is the report of the directors of the Auckland Gas Company, Ltd., to be presented to the shareholdv ers at the fiftieth annual meeting, to be held next Monday :— "The directors have pleasure is submitting to tho shareholders their report for the last twelve monthsi The profits for that period, after deducting working expenses, cost of repairs and renewals, management expenses, interest, bad debts, and other charges, amount to £46,452 7s 6<L The directbrs recommend a dividend for the past half-year of Is 10d per share W the £l fully paidup shji^, aifd a proportionate dividend on the 17s. 6d , puid-up contributing shares/ atj&orbiiig £21,784 9s lOd j which sum, when added to the dividend paid in July last, viz., £19,661 3s, amounts to £41,445 12s lOd, leaving a sum to be added to the balance at net revenue account of £5006 14s Bd. In November j last 12^204 £1 fully paid-up shares were I sold by tender at an, average price of £3 6s. ' The, accounts chow. that the revenue for the year was £158,212 4s 4d. The chief receipts were : — Sale of gas, £124,--641-Is.ld; public lighting (including gas supplied, extinguishing,, cleaning, repairing, renewing, etc., lamps in city and suburbs) £6047 9s; residual products, .£24.542 8s; gas fittings and gas engines, £2800.
