At the Waikato Caledonian sporta meeting for the Governor's Oup, for the competitor gaining the most points over the whole meeting, Alick Campbell and V. Branson tied. They agreed to run 440 yards to decide who should hold the. cup, and after a tremendous struggle Campbell won by Bix inches.
