CAMP PAYMENTS., The following daily rates of pay for troops while in camp, have been approved as from 13th January, 1912:— LieutColonols, 15s; majors, l£s; captains, 10s; lieutenants and second lieutenants, 8s; oergt.-majors and staff-sergeants, 5s 6d; sergeants, ss ; corporals, 4s - 6d ; other ranks, 4s. SPECIAL EXAMINATION FOR PROMOTION. Owing to the fact that many officers opuld not present themselves for examination for promotion in November last, and to give those who failed at that examination a ohanoe to sit again, a -special examination for promotion will be held in March. In future examinations for promotion will be held on the third Tuesday in February and AugUßt, instead of May and November, commencing next August.
