WIRTH'S CIRCUS.

Wirth Brothers' Circus and Menagerie will open in Wellington on Monday, 15th January, on the reclaimed ground near the Thorndon railway station. It is now ''twenty-eight years since Wirth Brothers first appeared in Melbourne, and they have paid us a visit annually for the last eleven or twelve years, each year presenting something new and different to their previous visit. Mr. George Wirth, on his recent tour of the world in search of novelties, decided to have a complete' change. The result is forty odd artists and twenty new animals, one new item being (he £2000 Polar bear turn. The Flying Jordans' claim to be ,the greatest aerialIsts in the world ; the Adelia Sisters and George starred for three seasons at the New York Hippodrome as wire performers; the eleven Bastiens, a family of equestriennes, do on acrobatic performance on one horse; La Van Artois and Stump perform a novel act on three aerial horizontal bare in the dome of the building; Alf Tack doe's a performance on his head; Foy and Kitchen are a duo of athletes who introduce comedy in a sensational turn on a trampoFne mattress; Harry Barge has a company of six comedians; aad Heir Schmidt is the trainer of the group of performing Polar bears. Wirths nave retained their herd of trained elephants! and Lizzie, the hippopotamus, etc., and have added two American buffaloes, the only ones ever . seen in Australasia. The menagerie will be open in the afternoon from 4 to 5, "when a nominal charge be made. The box plan at the Dresden is now open.' There will be a matinee on Wednesday afternoon. BRENNAN'S~ATTRACTION. ! On Wednesday nignt Brennan's Entertaining Players will begin their season at the Opera House. "Prince Charles," who figures prominently on the bill, is an orang-outang, said ,to be brimful of intelligence, and to be the most remarkable simian performer in the world. He eats like a human being, skates, rides a bicycle, and drives a motor car. Eva Mudgo is a singer and quick change specialist. Johnson' and Wells are described -as the greatest living team of coloured comedians and dancers. Archie Glen is a character comedian. Lcs Petits Totos, "the darlings of Paris," are listed to display their thrilling acrobatic and gymnastic acte. Jordan and Harvey are described as "the greatest Hebrew character artists and comedians in the world." Nellie Kolle specialises in male impersonations, and as a piano entertainer her achievements rank high with the latest entertaining features. Charles Horwood is a baritone singer of quality, and the other members of the company assist in providing a diversfied programme. The box plan its at the Dresden!
