Mrs. Lillian Robinson, who was severely hurt by a fall off a car yesterday, and was removed to the hospital, is reported as much better to-day. The annual output of sawn hardwood timber from the Victorian State forests has now reached 53,000,000 feet, the increase for the last financial year over the previous one having been 4,250,000 feet. Of the total quantity the Warburton, Toolangi, and Yea districts, worked, as one forest division, contributed nearly 30,000,000 feet. The Otway and Heytesbury milk cut 9,300,000 feet, and the red gum mills in the Murray River reserves cut 3,930,000 . feet. Of broad palings 1,100,000 were split, a reduction of over 500,000 on the previous years' output. The extension of this class of timber working is' not encouraged in the State forests owing to its wastefulness, and. a great deal of the palings now cut come from private^ lands in the OUvay Ranges. The /output of railway sleepers exceeded 140,000, while piles and other hewn timber amounted to nearly 10,000,000 feet. The output of mining timber and mine fuel is steadily falling, but house fuel shows a substantial increase. Last week there were trucked at Feildmg 450 bales of -wool and 5548 head of sheep. Wool continues to come in large quantities, keeping the goods shed hands very busy at the strenuous work of loadup. It is expected that the traffic in ahMp will ijicreaM very much within the aexfc month oj y> X
