(Received January 11, 11.40 a.m.) ' PARIS, 10th January. The Ministry has resigned. SENSATION' AT COMMITTEE MEETING. PAP-IS, 10th January. M. , Caillaux aatsure'd the Senate Committee on his word of honour that the newspaper, allegations that while he was Finance Minister .in M. Monis's Cabinet he conducted irregular pourparlers with Germany unknown to his colleagues, President Fallieres or M. Jules Cambon (the French Ambassador at Berlin) were untrue. M [ . Clemenceau and M. Bourgeois pressed M^ de Selves to say whether he was able to confirm M. Caillaux's statement. M. do Selves 6aid: "I cannot reply, for I owe a. double duty to truth and the country's interest." ' A sensation was caused by M. Clemenceau declaring: "You may say this to anyone else, but not to me, because »you informed me to the contrary." M. de Selves replied : "You misunderstood me." The - committee immediately; adjourned. 1 \ Subsequently a private conference took place between M. Caillaux and M. de Selves, aftet which the latter anaounced his resignation.
