STAR PICTURES.
The star film contained in the new programme presented last evening at the Star Theatre, Newtown, ' included some excellent views of the departure of the King and Queen for India in the magnificent steamship Medina. The Royal party were shown embarking from Portsmouth, attended by the squadron. The picture was enthusiastically applauded. A powerful drama was included in "His Exoneration," the story of a son's selfsacrifice. The story is well acted, and has » pretty ending. A tale of the same type was included 'in "Dad's Girls." A pathetic tale of the American War of Independence, entitled "Wages of War," was wel) told, and "Cupid the Conquerpr" proved an amusing comedy-drama. "Life of the Bees," an industrial subject, vividly pictured not only the making of the honeycomb, but the life of the bee in every stage of its existence. The programme included many other excellent films, among which may be mentioned "The Brahma* Diamond," a thrilling Indian ta>, "Artful Tweedledum," a delightful comedy, "Famous Rivers," a beautiful scenic picture, and "By Rail to the Summit of Shausberg."
