. MEETING OF SOCIETY. The Society foi Prevention of Cruelty to Animala held it? fortnightly meeting in the Chamber of Commerce lnst evening. Ml. J. S. Jameson was in the chaii\ The inspector's report, which was read by tho secretary, contained pnrticulars of many serious' cases of alleged cruelty, which wore being fully investigated. The following donations were acknowledged!—Y. H. G. Rawley, £2 2s; iJtesdon Piano tfo., F. de J. Clero. Chapman, Skerrott. Wylio, and Tripp, 10? 6d each: W. tiittlejonn, Htitcheson anrl Wilsoli, Ballinger Bros., fo ettch ; and Mrs. Chittenden, 2s 6d. Total. £,4 16*.
