GATHERING OF WEST COASTERS ANNUAL REUNION.

The West Coasters' Association held its annual "social' 1 in the Sydney-street Hall la«t night. There was a very large attendance and a most enjoyable evening was spent, though dancing was difficult on account of the unexpected number of guests. Mr. F. M'Parland presided and among the guests were Sir Joseph Ward, Bart., and Lady Ward. Sir James Carroll, Sir Arthur and Lady Guinness, the Hon. R, M'Kenzie, and the Hon. ,J. A. Millar. Apologies for absence. were received from Sir John Findlay, Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon, M.P., and others. Short addresses were delivered late in the evening by the Ministers present, and by Sir Arthur Guinness. The chairman and Mr. J. J. M'Grath, expressed 'the thanks of the association to the guests. West Coasters in all parts of the country were a credit to their birthplace. Sir Arthur Guinness, vice-president of the association, described the chief trait of the West Coast character as its faithfulness and friendship. He spoke feelingly of his long connection with the Coa6t. Short speeches were also made by Sir James Carroll, Hon. J. A. Millar, Mr. Martin Kennedy and others. The programme comprised songs by Messrs. B. M'Cormick, F. 'Walsh, It. Robertson, C. M'Leod, D. Kenny, J.
