(It TIttOBAPH— SPBCIAL TO TOT 9087.] OTAKI/llth September/ News reached her© to-d*y of a fire which started at Waikaaae yesterday, and which up to the present has damaged fiome 1500 acres of grass and' flax land belonging to Messrs. A. A. Brown, Field, Hadfield, and Campion. The damage done is said to be enormou*. Ib i» probable that tho Paetawa flxmill will be unable to work for some time, as practically all the flax has been demolished. Mr. Brown will, therefore,, be a very heavy sufferer..
