STOCK FOR NEW ZEALAND. MR. J. BOAG'S PURCHASES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, 4th August. Mr. J. Boag, who is a passenger for Now Zealand by the Rotoma, has mad© several important purchases of stock while in the Old Country, For the Middlerigg stud he has acquired the four-year-old Clydesdale stallion Black DougUe, bred by Mr. G. Alston, of Darvel, Ayrshire. Black Douglas has had some important successes in the show ring. As a yearling he took first at tho Glasgow stallion show and second at the j Highland Show ; as a tn-O'yehr-old «e<Jond at Glasgow and fourth at the Highland; as a three-year-old third at the Highland, and this year fifth at tho Highland amongst ton competitors. Black Douglas, who is black, with grey hairs, goes out by the Kia Ora. He is by Revelatita— Baron's Pride. By the same boat, and in charge of Mr. Boag's groom, goes a fine Clydesdale mare, Bathgate, purchased by Mr. Boag for Mr. E. Short, of Parorangi, Feilding. The mare, which was purchased from Mr. G. Ferguson, of "Surradale, Elgin, is five years of age, with filly at foot by Fyvio Baron. hy the same boat Messrs. Dalgety are taking out for Mr. Short a prize Romney ram lamb. *
