DEBATE ON THE BUDGET. TO BE COMMENCED TO-NIGHT.
The debate on the Budget will commence in the House to-night after the dinner adjournment. Mr, Massey, Leader of the Opposition, • will be the first speaker. There is a good deal of speculation and a diversity of opinion as to how long the debate will Ust. Many members, it is said, are waiting to, hear what the others have to say before entering into the diecussioh, and it is considered quite probable that it may conclude to-morrow night, If, on the other hand, the tone of the debate in its earlier stages ie such as to awaken interest, it is likely that the debate may last for a fortnight.
