CHRISTCHURCH UNEMPLOYED.
CHRISTCHURCH, 9th September. A meeting of unempl6yed this afternoon discussed the' Prime Minister^ telegram offering work on the Midland and Cheviot railways. The meeting decided without dissent to a motion to the effect that if the Government guaranteed each, man at least £2 per week the work offered Would be accepted. It ie reported locally that the Minister for Railways has authorised the payment of railway labourers at the rate of 1# l^d per hour.
