MASTERTON MATTERS.
[BY TKJSaRAPU— SPfiCIAt, TO tHB POST.} MASTERTON, This Day. Tho cricket season in Masterton opened on Saturday. A number of enthusiasts gathered at the nets on the Park Oval for practice. Ninety-four names were added to the membership roll of the Masterton A. and I. Ar-sociation at a meeting on Saturday. No less than 189 members have been added in six weeks, and the tot«l now Etatids at 1033. The .third anniversary of the local Congregational Church was celebrated yesterday. The services were conducted by the ReV. W. A. Evans, of the Constable-street Church, Wellington. The annual meeting will be held to»night, when the Rev. J. R. Glasson, of ifoe Terrace Church, Wellington, will ako be present. The Masterton Trust Lands Trust and the Masterton A. and P. Association have expressed themselves in sympathy with Mr. A. H, Vilo's notice of motion to bo brought before the Wellington Education Board with reference to the establishment of an agricultural school in this district. Both bodies passed resolutions Which were forwarded to the board.
