Vine was fourth in hia connty's bat ting averages last season with 26.22 rune, and fifth ip the bowling, with an average of 26.69 per wicket. There has been some little indefiniteness about the exact personnel of the English team to tour Australia- this sum m&r, but the following list may prove to be correct :— - P. F. Warner (captain), Middle&ex; F. F. Foster, Warwickshire ', S. P. Kinneir, Warwickshire ; J. Vine, • Sussex j H. Strudwick, Surrey ; F. E. Woolley, Kent; 3. Ireihohger, Notts,' W. Rhodes, York- • shire; C. V. Mead, Hants; G. Gunn, Notts; J. B. Hobbs., Surrey; E. G. Smith, Gloucester; S. Jf. Barnes, Staffordshire; W. BreaTley, Lancashire; J. W. H. T^ Douglas, Essex ; J. W. Heame, Middlesex. It is probable that only fifteen men will fee sent. Some doubt exists as to Brearley ctr Hearne. Vine has been included doubtless as a batsman/ of the solid type. Mr, T.
