DIAMONDS (2). Five minutes after the two above teams took to the field at Miramar on Saturday, it could bo r,een that the game wae going to be a very close one, and so it proved to be, Ramblers only securing the winning point two mihutes before the call of time. Things were in, Ramblers' favour on commencing, till Diamonds made a series of swift incur* sions to opposite territory, but with no result. Ramblers, however, drew first blood, H. Hart easily finding the net. It was shortly after recommencing in tlie secohd half that one of the LoWe brothers equalised for his side from a scramble in front of the posts. Diamonds' second goal came shortly after, Black scoring from tho left wing. Ramblers retaliated, so that Smallbone found the net with a splendid shot. Two minutes before the sound of the whistle Cross scored the winning point for Ramblers. Mr. J. B. Paton was referee. Y.M.CA. (3) v. WANDERERS (0). The Y.M.CA..Wanderers match, which was played at Duppa-street, did opt have any bearing upon the championship. The game was dull and de« void of much mtadent, and neither team pkyed well, Y.M.CA. in particular being out of form. The game ended in favour of Y.M.CA. by 3 goels to nil, And they were, as the score indicates, the superior eleven. The defence of both teatns was much Btronger than the forward play. The shooting was extremely poor, and the combined piay wa* ot low standard. Two foals were shot by Godsalve and one by Brown. Mr. E. Windley was referee. CORINTHIANS (3) v. ST. JOHN'S (1). Corinthians and St. John's met at Kel« burne Park. The ground was very heavy, «nd in consequence the going was hard. From the start Corinthians made a strong attack on their opponents' goal. Curtis opened the scoring with a, low shot, five minutes from, the start. Corinthiane, 1 ; St. John's, 0. Reneen, who put in a long shot, found the net for St. John's. The game was fast, and during the last fifteen minutes of the first spell Ives scored twice for the stfipes. THISTLE (3) v. ROVERS (2). Played "on the Basin Reserve, the game was full of interest from start to finish. Rovers opened out remarkably well, attacking with a vigour that on more than one occasion threatened disaster to their opponents. Thistles then got under way, and although they did not, taken as a. whole, play fully up to their standard, .they proved too good for their opponents. Clapham, as usual, was a tower of strength to his eide, his kicking be* ing characterised by all the old-time accuracy and judgment. He was well seconded by his colleague, Jardine, at ftill-back. His most prominent supporters were Lindsay, Dixon, Browufce al>d Ash. For the Rovers Duign&n and Martin at back did splendid service, and Miller, O'Shea, Croft, and Lowe were prominent in a lonfT series of interesting, and a.b times exciting, attacks on the blues' position. The first goal was scored by M'Lellan (centre forward), from a Bplendid paes by Clapham, and the secohd by Ash from a penalty-kick, With a handicap of two points, Rovers worked hard and well, and from a splendid combined movement down the left-wing o'Slrea pnt the ball between the posts, making the score--*Thistle 2, Rovers 1.
