At the; meeting of the British Medical Association, Professor Jordan Lloyd estimated, that there wore 2276 deaths from- appendicitis a year in England and Wales, and 40,000 operations for appendicitis in a year. In the United Kingdom 600,000 general operations were performed philanthropic. aDy annually.
