A LARGE GATHERING. MILITARY EXERCISES. ! By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received May 13, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 12th May. The Duke of Coanaught, Lord Haldane (Secretary of State for War), Mr. Asquith (Prime Minister), Mr. Lloyd George (Chancellor of the Exchequer), and Field-Marshal Lord Kitchener, 200 members of the House of Commons, and -two officials representing Australia, witnessed aeroplane- demonstrations at Hendon. Bomb-throwing, despatch, and ma-chine-gun carrying, quick starting and alighting, and other military exercises were gone through. A NARROW ESCAPE. MR. BALFOUR~HAS A TRIP. LONDON, 12th May. Mr. Drexel fell from a height of forty feet, but was not hurt. The machine was wrecked. Mr. Balfour was a passenger in Mr. GraTiame-White's biplane during a flight.
