NEW COUNCIL COMMITTEES.

The following committees have been appointed in connection with the Wellington City Council : — Power Stations and Tramways— Tho Mayor, Councillors Fitzgerald, Fletcher, Frost, Hindmarsh, ShirtcMe, and Smith. Abattoirs, Milk Supply, and Publio Health— Councillors Atkinson, Fitzgerald Fletcher, M'Laren, Shirtcliffe, Godber, and Cameron. Baths and City Reserves— Councillors Cohen, Frost, Shirtcliffe, Smith, M'Laron, M'Kenzio, and Cameron. Bylaws, Fire Brigade, and Street Lighting— Councillors Cohen, Frost, Smith, Trevor, Godbei, M'Konzie, and Fuller. Legislation and Reclaimed Land Leases — Councillors Atkin6on, Barber, Cohen, Uindnuu'sh, Godber, Cameron, and M'Kenzip. 'Libraries — Councillors Atkinson, Cohen, Hindmarsh, M'Laren, Trevor, Barber and Fuller. Outlying Districts— Councillors Barber, Frost, Fitzgerald, Hindmarsh, M'Kenzie, Fuller, Cameron. Finance and Property — Chairmen of tho Standing Committee*. Special Committee (market*)— Councillors Hindmarah, M'Laren, Smith, Trevor, Barber, Fuller, Cameron.

During April Customs revenue to the amount oi £62,700 11s lOd was collected at Wellington. Beer duly for tho same period amounted to £1255 18s> 6d. For April. 1910. the figures were: — Customs levenue £66.631 fl». beer duly £1075 iU Id. "The Creation" will i>e given by' the Wellington Choral Society on Friday next. Mr. Harold Browning, who take* the bas-? role has not appeared before the Wellington public. Councilior M'Laren has given notice that he will move at the next meeting ofthe City Council : "That a staff committee be appointed to deal with all matters affecting the relations of the council to the corporation employees lespecting conditiona of employment and service." Tho Railway Department publishes in our advertising columns an alteration of tho Sunday train time-table. Messrs. J. W. Braithwaico and Co. will sell by.auctioii, at tho City Auction Mart, Manners-street, to-morrow, at 2 p.m., household furniture and effects. Messrs. T. Kennedy Macdonald, Ltd., will hold a sale of building material tomorrow, on tho ground, No. 70, Cam-bridgo-terraco, commencing at 11 o'clock, sharp, including 300 sheets iron, doors, windows, ' hashes, and on Friday, sth iiibt., and Monday, Stli inst., they will hold an I unreserved auction salo of v£soov £500 worth of jewellery.
