ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN. MR. R. FLETCHER UNANI- . r MOUSLY' HEAPPOINTED. ' Mr. Robert Fletcher was this after- i noon unanimously reappointed chainnia of the Wellington Harbour Board for a further term. When the board met all the members, with the exception of Messrs. J. G. Harkneps (who is cut of tho countiy) and M. Cohen (Palmerstou North) wero present. Mi 1 . Cohen seii't iUi apology lor unavoidable absence. In moving that Mr. Fletcher be reappointed, Mr. C. W. Jones> said that dining the last twelve months Mr. Fletcher had performed his duties in such a way as to thoroughly entitled him to tho courtesy of re-election. Mr. C. E. Daniell seconded the motion, lie said Mr. Fletcher had i«ccived a, big vote of confidence from, ths electors and his occupancy * of the chair had been markedly successful. The motion was carried without further discussion. Mr. Fletcher briefly returned thanks. He taid he would" do 'his best in the future and- at all times would endeavour to hold the scales of justice evenly and to further the interests of the community over which they held jurisdiction. (Applause.) The following were appointed Legislation Committee : Messrs. Jones, M'Ewan, Hindmareh, Freeth, Tewsley, and the chairman. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Harkncea for one month. Accounts amounting to £1210 were passed for payment.
