FEDERAL REFERENDA RESULT. WHAT WAS LABOUR DOING? A MATTER FOR CONSIDERATION. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received May 2, lOjfa.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Acting-State Premier (Mr. Holman) points out that at the last State elections there were 283,000 Labour votes recorded, whereas there were only 128,000 "y<>6" votes cast for tho referenda proposals It is apparent from this that 160,000 Labour votes wero given against the proposals, or that that number of Labour people did not vote at all. This is a significant fact, says Mr. Holman, and certainly a matter for consideration by the Labour leaders. WHEN MR, FISHER GOT THIS NEWS. (Received May 2, 10.7 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Mr. Fisher (Federal Prime Minister) received tho news of the result of the referenda, when he was at Port Said, en route for London.
