He next ran fourth to the crack colt Pietri, King William, and Carraveen in the Gimcrack Stakes, and at the Newmarket October meeting he took the Suffolk Nursery Plate, and wound up the season by landing tho Richmond Nursery Handicap under 9.0. Last year Demostiienes won the Doncaster Spring Handicap and the Stewards' Handicap at Epsom. He subsequently ran third to Batchelor's Double and Eudorus for the Royal Hunt Cup, third to Perrier and Orptah for the Duke of Cambridge Plandicap at Newmarket, and second to Columbus for the Newmarket October Handicap. Bronzino won the Greeiiham Stakes at Newbury, and ran second to Swynford in tlie St. Leger, bpating Lemberg.]
